Seattle Modern Orchestra opens its season with an exploration of musical pluralism in Open Form. This concert features music that allows the performers to change the form at each reading, which means that no two performances are ever the same! Works by Earle Brown, Sylvano Bussotti, a rare performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Zyklus by percussionist Bonnie Whiting Smith, and a world premiere by Seattle composer Tom Baker commissioned by SMO.
Performance with Pacific Lutheran University Choral Union. Concert of new British Composers. Lagerquist Hall, PLU Campus.
Marathon performances with Tacoma's rising piano stars. Concerts throughout the day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some are in costume and some are classical concerts. This is the climax of two weeks of intensive chamber music coaching for young pianists to learn how to play chamber music in a piano trio setting. Concerts are free and donations are accepted.
